Memory from Betty Hanna

This past week, four of us "old timers" were sitting around the lunch room table and the discussion was "cleaning our different areas". Finally Jim Demsey said "I'll tell you what we need - we need Dorothy Runyan". Of course that discussion brought many comments about how she was able to work with the students, show them how to clean properly, etc. You see, God made Dorothy with a desire to have things neat and tidy. It didn't have to be expensive but it did have to be neat and clean.
After I started working with the John McPherson Center, I was in charge of 37 puppets. Of course, Dorothy was the real one in charge of the puppets. One day she had them out - all on their little stands and checking them to make sure their little suits, hair, etc. was clean. When I came in and saw her with them all lined up, I told her it was just like she had her children lined up. Unfortunately, I have not had anyone since then who could do the work she did. Thursday, I was working with puppets and unfortunately some had been returned with dirty clothes and their hair was untidy. (They had been to Canada). I again thought of Dorothy. I hope she can't see down from Heaven and see how messy "her children were".
