Asking for Help

I remember as a kid how often Grandma was around to help us boys. It was so great to have an extra heart around to be loved by. :) Grandma seemed to have a different way with us than anyone else and, I'd imagine her other grandkids might say the same, she seemed to acheive possitive results with us faster than even mom or dad sometimes. Call it a mystery, I call it great wisdom, but whatever it was I can say it was always a big help.

So lately, after getting through Grandma's passing and some other emotional battles, I've found myself asking her for some help. I can't say I'm being doctrinally sound or anything but I do find comfort, while praying, in throwing in a "can you help me, Grandma?" once in a while. I've found that asking for help from anyone can be a humbling thing as an adult but even more humbling when you are asking it of someone who's not even there. Nonetheless, I'm asking for help, and finding peace there. In those humble, I've-realized-I-can't-do-it-myself moments, I find that Grandma's spirit lives on.
